Mike, You can still go on a saturday, workday doesn't start til Monday! Fish-n-spend this weekend, it's out near Wendover. Have fun bassing around!
As for me, I've never been there but heard some good things about that place. I would like to go but I'm coaching the girls' jr jazz team tomorrow then I have to do my job to acquire at least 5-6 threes' in a men's game.
What's the average air temp there? You say the water temp averages out to 66 degrees even in the winter? I know there's some warm hot-water springs in there. Are boats allowed there?
I need to get out there!

Hey Mike, That's way cool you're taking your missus icefishing. That's way important dude to build that relationship stronger with your missus. Have fun this weekend... you are 100% correct there will always be other times to hit that place with venegence.
I tried looking up the proclamation about that place and it doesn't say anything about boats there nor does it say anything about it regulation wise... It is still inside the Utah border right? I have to admit I have never been there nor seen the place. So that's why the question.

the air temp out at blue lake is close to the same as it is in slc. When there is lots of fog in the city there is alot at the lake too. I would think you would drive out of it, but im not a weatherman.I had to go natural resources to find out about the water. been there twice this last month. the limits are statewide standards for bass and bluegill I havent seen anything else in there. lots of 12-15 in bass maybe a few should be kept, theres not very many small bluegill either so it might be trend kind of how yuba was with the eye's and perch, but im not a biologist either!im still trying to figure out their eating patterns, but morning topwater bite i know is on fire.Ill see how i do sat. and let you know. There is no ramp just a makeshift boardwalk made of pallets to the water, maybe a 3-4 minute walk ok for a toon a tube. lots of scuba divers midday.they stir up the water and make fish skiddish.

I've seen people with inflatables out there...rafts and float tubes. I'd hate to try and carry anything else out there though.
Saturday is supposed to be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 30's, if that helps. Bring a coat...

Hey fsh4fun05, yes the divers do stir up the water. Its where newbies are taken to certify because its warm and clear (until they swim around a bit). Those newbies ususally don't have all that great of control and bounce off the bottoma alot. However I don't think that they make the fish all that skittish. Bass and especially the crappie are very curious critters. They will swim right up to you nose to nose. They follow the divers all over. This is nothing specific to Blue Lake either. I've been in a couple of lake the the crappie will swim up to you. But its a little worse/better in Blue Lake. The crappie have figured out that they can get a free meal. Alot of the divers will take a can of cheeze whiz whith them. So now when any diver gets in the water, all the little buggers come a runnin'. I've taken advantage of this a time or two with a small tube/curyl tailed jig wraped around a pencil for a pole.[cool] Its a hoot! Anyway you just need to wait until the divers move away from the platforms (where the floats are) and then fish around there. I am going out next Thursday and/or Friday. IF you'd rather wait and go with a couple of divers.... or if you'd rather wait for a report....you'd be welcome.

I've heard of this place for divers. I've never been there. How do you get there? Sounds like a blast.
