I picked up some nice trout on a green Whatta-Cricket tipped with wax worm in 11' of water. I fished it like I would at Strawberry ,with no other jig or spinner and watched for the line to go limp as the fish picked the jig up from underneath it. Most fish were close to the bottom with some smaller ones caught up higher in the water.

Welcome to the site . Thanks for the report . You will do better for trout in closer to shore . Did you know that most of your perch if not all , you let go will die . Getting to be a problem up there with everyone doing it . Seen lots of perch dead floating under the ice this year . But I bet it has been a problem for a quite while but most of the time snow covers the ice good so you don't see it . It is good to just quit when you get your limit .

YEAH WHEN YOU BRING MOST FISH FROM 40 FT OR EVEN 20FT TO THE TOP THE SWIM BLADDER SWELLS UP (IT LOOKS LIKE A BIG TONGUE) AND THEY CAN'T GET BACK DOWN TO 40 FT QUICK ENOUGH. THEN THEY DIE. NOW IF YOU TOKE 10 MIN BRINGING THEM UP THEY WOULD BE FINE BUT NO ONE DOES THAT.
THERE IS A HUGE CHANGE IN PRESSURE FROM 30FT TO THE TOP.

My dad and I went up today. The trout seemed to be cruising at about 12', regardless of the depth of water. They were taking both worms and perch meat on the usual jigs/spoons. We caught a few, including a nice 17 incher. Not quite as fat as at the Berry or Scofield, though.
The perch were a lot of fun. It took us a while to find them, being my first time fishing for them. It was also only my second time with the fishfinder, and It took me a while to realize that the fish just looked like the bottom of the lake for the most part. It also doesn't help that one of my auger blades broke, so I was trying to drill with the thing wobbling all over the place and couldn't move around much. [crazy]
