My best trip to Hyrum so far
#1
My best trip to Hyrum so far: 4 bites and 1 trout (8in). I've been to Hyrum several times before and would have given up on it if it was not so close by. But I actually caught something there today.

A buddy and I fished east of the swim area. We got there at 10 and fished until it got dark. My buddy caught one trout (8in) and 2 perch (6in). We used the basic methods and fished in 15-25' of water. I was very surprised that we couldn't find a perch until we were in only 15' of water.

Good to hear the fishing is picking up for you[laugh]. Too bad The Pig and Mantua are slow fishing also.

See ya on campus.

[black]I have talked to several folks that have come up from Hyrum in the past few weeks and the fishing has been good to very good for planter trout, especially back near the inlet. Many days there is an entire ice hut city back there. Most are using some kind of plastic jig with bait, be it meal worms, waxies, or night crawler; your standard fair. White seems to be a favorite color.[/black]
