Bows at the Berry 3/5/05
#1
Wish I could have gone to the gorge today . . . but after i finished my morning obligations, my wife and I went up to the berry for a few hours. I was desperate to get away from the crowds, so I parked about a half-mile before the Marina and walked northeast toward the lake. Very little foot traffic this way, so I was hopeful. Fished with small chartreuse gitzits tipped with mealies. The first fish on the ice was a rainbow (first bow I've caught at the berry since last summer!) It wasn't too bad, about 15". Then a couple of slot cuts and another bow, this time 19" and very fat, probably close to 4lbs. Fished for another couple hours and got a fish every 20 minutes or so, including another big bow, 18.5". Pics of the bows to follow, finished my roll today, but need to develop it and then scan the pics . . . yeah, I just need to break down and get a digital!

It's always nice to land a few bows for some table fare! I really enjoy the flavor of the fish up there. Lookin' forward to the pics. Good luck on your next trip out.

[cool]Nice report, fishhungry! So, is this a little bay right before you get to the marina? I don't fish by the marina much, so I'm not super familiar with that area around there.
