Night fishing lures/baits
#1
What is your all time favorite lure/bait for fishing nights for bass(largemouth, smallies, striper, white, hybrids)? I have my my own night fishing "go to" lures but just wanted to see what works for other folks. The one I've caught the most bass on is a ChugBug in a frog pattern or a Jitterbug in Black. I'm going to try some black lures this weekend in a hot spring and see how they do and then post up about it. Just kind of a trial and error thing. Please post up, not for me to go out and by a dozen of what works for you but just because Im curious if any bass fishermen think along the same lines as me. I also have used dark soft plastics and done pretty well, but I just love the splash and feel of a bass hitting a topwater at night.

Similar to your topwater cranks, I like spinner baits with tandem willow leaf blades and a pork rind or plastic rind as a trailer. Buzz baits would probably work as well. What these lures have in common is their ability to produce noise and have their silhouettes displayed against a backlit sky - primarily geared towards the bucketmouths.

I haven't pursued bass at night for to long but have nailed a few on buzzbaits and spooks . I mainly chase trout at night but keep trying for bass . I throw anything for trout at night including flies .
