For those of you waiting patiently to launch from the state park marina at Bear Lake, it is now open. As "fish1on" said in another post I broke up some ice on Sat. and he move the ice around and was able to get his boat out on Saturday. Since then the marina has really opened up due to the deicers running non-stop. I highly doubt it would refreeze with the fairly mild temps we've been having. Anyway, you can launch from the marina and the fishing has been pretty good. Check out the post I made a few days ago for the latest fishing information. Right now there is only one wide lane plowed down to the water to launch, but the snow is going fast and I'm sure the other lanes will be useable in another day or so.

Is there any ice on the main lake itself?

The main lake has been free of ice for about three weeks. However, there are still a few chunks floating around. Be careful when running wide-open. If you hit one of these it could tear up your lower unit or prop.

Thanks for the update Scott and for breaking up the ice at the bottom of the ramp of the State park marina. You and Pat have really helped the guys that have been waiting for that ice to be gone in the marina. What did you use to break it up and how thick was the ice.
