New Tube
#1
I just got my new tube on Saturday (FISH CAT 4) on a sweet deal at Hooked, and I am YEARNING to get out there and try it out. I've been wanting to go after bass, I was thinking Blue Lake, Lake Powell, or Sand Hollow. I am planning on going out Thursday and coming home Friday I am open to any other suggestions/tips. I am also aware of the upcoming storms this week and know that storms often put bass down, so I am also willing to go after the Troutskies, I just want to get out and play with my new toy. For all you fishing experts would it be worth it to head down South or West with the stroms?

You could go for trout or bass at Quail Creek Reservoir.
The weather in the South may not be all that bad.

I think the weather reports say rainy and windy. Rain is not to bad the wind is what kills you in a float tube,

Congrats on your new tube! Can I try it out before you take your trial run just to make sure it floats?

We need to get together and "trick it out." So have you inflated it in your living room and pretended to fish out of it yet?

If the answer is no, I have no idea where that question would have come from [blush].

Congratulations on your new tube. I am also getting an outkast line tube which should come in about 2 weeks. It's like Christmas in April! I don't think we can go wrong with outkast. Their stuff is first rate.

As for the fishing question, I used to fish Quail Creek frequently in March and April when I lived down in that part of the country. A little early for hot bassin, but you might get a few, and the trout bite is usually good now. That or Sand Hollow would be good choices if I was in that area.

I'll be honest, I have pumped up the tube in the living room and day dreamed of all the new opportunities I now have. I just watched the weather report on channel 5, and Thursday is suppose to be cloudy and not much precipitation down south, so I am probably headed down there. Wind is a big issue, out of the lakes (Sand Hollow, Quail, and Gunlock) which one would provide the most protection against the wind? Even though the weather is not cooperating like I want, I am still super excited. Would the usuall bass tactics work (i.e. soft plastics, jig and pig, crankbaits) if anyone has any info I would appreciate it

Glad you like your fish cat Johnathon, Mainiac plastics are something to look at for those bass down there.
