Fish Finders
#1
Well I was doing ome searching on E-Bay, and found lots there. Has anyone had a look there. Maybe I am dreaming but I am curious if I need to spend a couple hundred dollars to get a finder. I certainly see numerous ones thereunder the hundred mark. One that I wanted to ask about was the GMF 302, It is a small yelow or there is also a blue one. It seems to be very portable. The price around 50 bucks seems pretty nice too. Does anyone have any experience with this one, or have seen something on E-Bay similar. I like the price and I even think my Wife could live with that.

I would also love to see some picks of how you mount them on your tubes.

Maybe one of you even have one you may be interested in selling.

[cool][#0000ff]Not familiar with those sonars. I would not recommend anything that cheap, even on Ebay. You do need a certain amount of power and sensitivity to read the bottom and to see if there are any fish kind swimming by.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Check back through the archives (Best of the Best). There are quite a few threads with pics, on different ways to set up sonar. Once you decide which one you are going to get, we can look at the type of transducer and offer suggestions for getting it set up.[/#0000ff]

Hey Vituber, I just bought a new fish finder at sportsmans, the Eagle Cuda 168. I here from TubeDude and Emuscud that they are great, and it only cost $99.99. The reason why I share with you is that I also was checking ebay, and they were selling the 168 for $105.00 (not including shipping) and at Basspro shops had it for either $119.00 or $139.00 I can't really remember. The finder is small compact and light, it has a built in temp. gauge and everything you would need (from what I know) in a finder for a tube. Sportsmans has a great deal right now just thought I would give you a heads up.

Hey there VITUBER I have an eagle fishmark 320, it is sweet. I can watch the fish come up and grab my jig when i am icefishing. It also has a built in temp gauge, and if you buy the sensor it also has the cabability to read speed.(which will be nice if I ever get a boat) I paid around 200 bucks for it, I think they are around 180-190 bucks now! Just make sure that whatever sonar you go with it has a temp reading, that can be very helpful. Good luck.[Wink]

I appreciate all the info and my research has lead me to the Cuda 128 or 168, both I can get here in Can. Walmart. The prices you mention plus taxes and shipping would end up being more expensive to order. Suprise Suprise.
If any on has reasons to choose one over the other I am deffinatley willing to listen. I would also love to see any picks of the set up on your tubes. Please email them to me thetryans@shaw.ca
Thanks for all your input and please keep it coming
