I fished Deer Creek last Friday. I didn't catch any walleye, but I caught some nice large trout trolling a variety of different things: needlefish, Pin's minnow, nightcrawler.

Did u keep any? where they still full of bugs from the lake coming up? Might have to go hit there agian next week if the fishing is getting better. last time I was at the lake every fish i caught was stuffed full of potato bugs

I kept a couple for dinner. However, I filleted them and didn't check out their stomachs. Most of them were feeding near the top. I only caught one down deep. It was a beautiful German Brown. I released him for another day.
I had hoped that I might have been able to get some walleye action. I went where I thought they would be, and used what I thought they might take, but I couldn't get any bites. Lloyd [signature]

Hi Pat!
We have sure had a tough time getting together. I haven't lost hope that we can do it this Spring though. We can meet and fish in tubes, my small aluminum boat, or my Crestliner as soon as I get my new windshield. When I took my cover off my Crestliner a month or so ago I discovered that the passenger side window had exploded all over the boat. I called the dealer because I saw no indication of vandalism. It was suggested that I call Crestliner to see if they would cover it under warranty. No luck! They said they would sell me a replacement at "dealer cost" however. The so-called dealer cost was just slightly under $300. What a shocker. Anyway, I ordered the windshield and it should arrive sometime in the next two weeks. So far, I have been fishing in my small aluminum boat which Kent hates! Let me know when you are available for us to get together! Lloyd [signature]
