My crawler shocker (the kind that has multiple metal prongs that one pushes into the ground and then plugs it into a 110 volt outlet) has seen better days. I have been looking for a new one, but haven't been able to locate any. Does anyone know where they can still be found?

Hi Kent can't help you out on the shocker but here is a way we used to collect nightcrawlers when i was a young boy in texas
take some powdered laundry soap out to where you think there are worm spread some soap around next take a garden hose and spray water on the soap spreading the suds around this cuts off the oxygen and brings up the worms then you just pick them up put in dirt and go fishing

hey kent this sounds cheap and dirty but works great. Just take any old extention chord, cut the ends off and solder them to some welding rods or just any stiff houshold electrical wire. Make sure you plug it in to a surge protector so that it will trip if you get the leads too close together, but you shouldn't have to worry. just place the leeds about 3 to 4 feet apart. It does wear out the crawlers though to anything you can do to revive them will help,

My dad made ours out of a old shovel handle, 9 ft extension cord, 1/8 inch metal rod and some electrical tape. Not to fancy but twenty some years later my boy and I are still using them. Only problem I've had is they blow the surge protector in the bathroom if I plug them in outside. The electrician that was fixing something else told me that was good as that is what the protector is there for to trip if there is any moisture along the line. Had to find a outlet not on that breaker and was back in business.

Kids- do not try this at home unless you want to see some live walking glowing skeletons. I beleive if it doesnt have a UL approved stamp on it, then it just doesn't warrant your life.[crazy][pirate]
