I am looking to buy a new bait cast reel, But I don't want to spend more than 50 dollars any suggestions, or is this unrealistic. I am not looking to fish in tournaments I just enjoy fishing as a hobby.

rule of thumb, never buy the cheepest you can find. there is a reason it is the cheepest on the shelf.
there are always exceptions to the rule, I bought a couple rods 30 years ago for 2.50 and still use them every day... they have gone though several reels tho'
for 50.oo you can get a good quality reel. Bass Pro, Gander Mountain, and Cabela all have reels in your price range.
to bad you just missed out on their big sales by about a month.... I am sure they still have promotional items so shop around a little before you buy... It will be worth the effort....
