Hyrum is an extremely high pressure lake.
You have to compensate for that.

It doesnt matter so much what you use, theres no magic lure.
All the same stuff you use at pineview, or mantua will work just fine, its the way you use it.

Pineview is so full of bass, that you can fish it real fast during the summer months. You can just fly around picking through the active fish and catch a ton of them.

Mantua is a bit different, it still has outrageous numbers, and good size if you get past the little ones. But still, the fish are heavily pressured in certain spots, and virtually untouched in others.
So, mantua can be real easy some times.

Theres no doubt some anglers better than me on hyrum, but I think the key to hyrum is slow down. When you think you have slowed down, really slow down. Then, slow down some more.

You have to be focused at hyrum, you have to be a line watcher. You have to respond to the slightest indicators, because of hyrums pressure. The fish there have a masters degree plus five years on the job expirience in avoiding fishermen.

Thats the way it goes when there is a tournament on the lake nearly every weekend.
