With all the fishing at Willard, can anyone tell me if the carp are close to shore. My son wamts to take his bow out and get a few. He hasn't been able to do that yet this year.

I've been out 3 times this year and I've only found the bugle mouths close to shore once, and that was during the spawn. I think they forgot what the rocks were with the recent low water. Those rocks can be real hard on arrows as well. I usually try to shoot them in the canal on the south end, but they did some dredging last year (for what reason I don't know), and you can't even see into the water. I think if I were you I'd try some of the ponds down in the bottoms, or get into a boat and cruise the shore at Pineview.

Thanks for the info. He really likes to walk the dike and besides it keeps the water skiers away. For some reason they don't come very close when they see that bow.Go figure, they are smarter than we think. HA HA

I'd take a walk below the outlet on the north dike. I've caught many a kittybait walking from the dike out to the swamps. Only bad thing is you also become skeeterbait.[
