E-lake report 6-14-05
#1
had some time yesterday and run up to E-lake with my boy's.. got there about 4:30 got the minnow traps in and got tommy's pole in the water... well tommy was fishing on the old road..as I walked down the shour to see if i could find some minnows.. found 2 spots that looked good for the traps.. then came to a spot where the bank just droped off deep fast.. I told tommy to come cast out there.. as he came over i went back to the truck and drove it down to where we were fishing.. he had a fish on before i got the truck over there..
tommy was useing a bubble and a minnow.. I was useing my walleye set up from utah lake.. I was getting alot more bites but tommy cought more than i did..lol my other boy and my dad was up there as well but they were up to blast some popguts.. we went home abot 6:00 ended up with 8 new bags of big red side's..

How high is the water rising? Is it up to the mouth of Burnout yet?

not sure where burnout is? but the lake is up close to 80 feet from last year and only about 4 feet from the bottom of the boat ramp and still comeing up!! looks like it's going to be a good year for E-lake!! the red sides are spawning right now so they are easy to trap and are in the giant size that i love for the walleye and cat's out at utah lake..

Burnout is the first canyon on the north side of the lake. There used to be a bridge you had to cross to get to the canyon, but the last couple of years you could just jump across.

[cool]Thanks for the update, fuzzy. It's good to hear that the water is coming up at e-lake, too. I can't wait to fish that place this Pioneer Day weekend (Hunington, too). My wife's family owns property at the top of Fairview Canyon about a mile below Skyline Drive, so we love to camp there. I'm gonna get me a minnow throw net and/or a trap too before that trip!

Hey i'll be heading 3/4 of the way up there on saturday, if you are up that way stop by terrells in mt. pleasnt on your way home, there is some big to do there they have a cool snowboarding simulator thing that is going to be setup for the people to use, as well as drinks, i dont get to enjoy it i just have to clean the thing up, if you want to find me look for the coke pickup i will more then likely be passed out in it.

Ron that looks like interesting fishing there, ruger 10/22's with banana clips, i dont see how you reel the fish back in though
