I have a little trip planned for Saturday the 25th of June to Willard. As I have never really fished for Wipers, I need to know what lures I need to troll and cast for them. Please Help! Firehawk

Lipless rapalas or shad raps or fat raps in shad colors or plastics in pearl or white on a jig or other rigs work well. Tolling at between 1.8 and 3 mph has been productive for me - depending on the fishes disposition of the day and the recent prevailing weather pattern and the lure you choose.

Thanks Fishhound! I appreciate the advice. Any other good ideas to try and lures that are a "must have" in the tackle box? Firehawk

Combonations of silver, white, and blue. Blue backs and white or silver belly lippless crank bait that rattel.
Now the the water is warming up, troll about 3.3 - 3.5 mph (GPS)

Thanks Old Coot! Is lipless the key here? I have never used a lipless plug or crankbait before. Thanks for the help. By the way, how is Mrs. Old Coot? I loved working around her in Salt Lake. She was the best HR person and held that place together. Always nice to talk to and be around. That place is sure a mess down there. Glad I am no longer part of it. Hope all is well for the two of you. Wolverine 209

Top water lures are a blast if the fish are hitting topwater. Use Producers mega ghost or ghost, or a zara spook, I'm having lots of luck here with a white body and red head. Also try Yum houdini's or FinS in the pearl color. I use the 9in. here in Ct. on the stripers, but there you should use the 5in.
