Went up to pineview today.
Fished alone for the first couple hours, until my partners arrived.
Picked up this little guy.
I hooked it and thought I had me another one of those big 18 - 20 inch smallmouth. Not enough weight to be a tiger too fast to be a carp.

When it came up I was wishin it was a carp. Those dog gone tigers destroy plastics.
At that point I had about 15 smallies and one tiger.
Anyways, I picked up my partners and the fishing was on.

We ended up with a boat total of about 35 smallies, some ok ones, and some dinks. No big girls.

Nice report! I haven't fished Pineview for several years now, and it looks like it may be time to give it another go.

My son and I are thinking about heading to Pineview on Weds. with our float tubes. Any suggestions? We are also thinking about Jordanelle, Rockport or maybe even Smith-Morehouse. Any word on those? Is Pineview even do-able with floaters? Thanks!

Hey Tom, been lurkin in here but haven't had anything to report until now. Just went to Lake X Friday and today. got a couple of good ones on Friday, biggest was 3.1, but they were all over 2 lbs. Today my wife kicked my butt! I did everything wrong today! Deb had 4 boated before I got a hit, then I never got the hook set....lost it at the boat. A few minutes later, broke one off on the set! I finally scored 3 but they were all small....around 1 lb. Deb was swimming a grub just off the botom, fishing uphill, and I got mine on a bitsy tube pretty deep 25 feet off a clay bank. I am surprised that the fish were so deep. We tried shallow, tried the spawning flats, threw some cranks, carolina rig, jigs, nada. I am excited to get out more, hope to see you up there. I'll start taking my camera again but I won't take any pics unless I get one bigger than my hand hahaha.

I was up there today too. I only boated a couple and left at noon. I had the biggest smallie I ever hooked throw a dropshot worm. It was somewhere between 6-22lbs. Oh, she was a beauty dancing on top. Then the wind kicked up and I took my sunburn and went home, lol.

That wind was a killer. It came up on Friday as well, about 10:00. We stuck it out till about 1:30, ran up the provo river arm and fished the south side where the wind was managable, that's where I connected but my fish were small. Deb must have caught 8 or 9 fish today, a couple of two pounders and the rest were just cookie cutter 1 pounders. I marked a few fish on the bottom in 25-30 feet but they were in a place where the wind made boat control a night mare. Would have loved to see your HOG in a pic for sure!
