Downrigger releases

[font "Arial Black"][red][size 3] I have a Big Jon electric Downrigger, not exactly sure on how to use it. I hear about all these different types of releases. So is there a best one, or personnal preferance. I want to use this soon but want it to properly.[/size][/red][/font]

The basic off-shore release is a no brainer and easy to use. You can find it at Sportsman's and most other places it comes in 4 color's with Yellow being the easiest yo release and then black, orange, and finally red being the heaviest. I use the yellow and black and they have worked well for me. We at Shasta Tackle also make a release that You can manually set the tension with a screw driver so that you are sure to release any size fish...It is also available at Sportsman's warehouse.
