I'd like to head up to the Strawberry on Friday night with kids. I prefer "primitive" camping to paid campgrounds. I don't mind driving 10-20 mins to get to the lake, if necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions for where I can go?

I would suggest going up Clyde Creek or Co-op Creek for primitive camping with it not being that far to go to fish the reservoir. Have fun.

The top of trout creek is a great place. Also there are some great spots up at currant creek so you could fish both lakes

If you go out past renegade there is some great primitive camping, and your not far from the lake. If you have atv's they can also be ridden in this area. Its beautiful out that way this time of year. Hope you find a great spot.
