Went up to Scofield early this morning. We started off using minnows under a bobber. After an hour we only had 2 fish, but both of them were very decent sized fish, at about 4 lbs. Caught a whole bunch of red sides(at one point I had over a hundred in a trap; a new record!) and headed to Lincoln beach for some cat action.
Got there around noon. Wind wasn't too bad, the water was a little choppy. I rigged up with a minnow and worm, hoping for a nice big walleye or two. Five minutes later I had a bite. Let the rod have some line, then when it went tight again I set the hook. It turned out to be a nice big white bass. After that the bass fishing was non-stop! We caught 35 of the buggers by the time we left at 5. They bit on either a worm, shinner or carp meat. Also, my dad and I nailed a bonus 20" walleye a piece. And my lucky little brother nailed a 5 lb. channel cat just as we were leaving.
I think I like Utah lake a lot better than Scofield. My family was able to nock'em dead with out even trying. Trust me, I'll be out there next weekend for sure!
