Just wondering my friend has a old chrysler trihull with a 105 horse chrysler outboard anyway the coil is cracked and leaking an oily substance it looks like a coil from a car. Anybody know if this is a marine shop only part or can i maybe pick one up from a auto parts store just curious. Thanks Joe

First, do not touch the oily substance, it may contain PCB's. Next do not just throw it away. Take it to the hazardous waste collection point at the dump. This will prevent it from getting at our fishing or water supply.

I have had very good results getting old motor parts from NAPA. They were able to get me coils for several motors in the early 60"s range.
