Mantua and Echo report
#1
Fished Mantua on Saturday, the first time this year. Got alot of big bluegill and some real nice fat percch. We just went out into the lake and anchored. Just fished with a jighead and a green grub. The big perch were caught on orange grubs and bright pink grubs. All fish were released.
Fished Echo on Sunday, got 4 nice bass and alot of small perch. Which is a good sign, maybe the perch fishing will be alot better this year. The bass were caught on a small jighead and a piece of worm.I can't remember when I have ever seen that lake as high as it is.

Thanks for the report Sandy, those pan fish in Mantua are a good size but I'm surprised you didn't catch any bass there.

Thanks for the report, I hit Mantua a week ago last friday. Done real well on the bass using a five inch salt stick in changeable craw, and watermelon brown. Wacky rig was the way to go.

Hey Hydrotech,
I haven't gotten much fishing done this summer, it was good to get out. Yes I fished from a boat at Mantua. We just went out aways and started fishing. The fish finder said the depth was about 20ft. But alot of the fish were at about 10ft.
We were fishing mostly for panfish, we did get one bass.I didn't have my grandson the bass fisherman with me, so no bass.

The biggest perch that we caught was about 9 inches, but my grandaughter had a ball hooking ones that were in the weeds along the edge, they were about 3 inches.
