7-11 Strawberry report
#1
Hit Strawberry Monday from about 10am-4pm. Only caught a few but as I was leaving I found out that the fish were way deep. I really need to get a fish finder. Anyway, talked to a few guys who used needfish with lead lines and they caught a ton. Last time I used needfish while trolling I did pretty well also. Bright yellow ones seemed to work best. Just get them down deep. It was a nice day on the lake though. I will know what to bring next time. Although next time they will be hitting something else. Oh well. Can't complain not going to work and fishing.

Here is what i used to catch some big rainbows when i had a boat and they were deep.I would jig a krocodile spoon and a red and white daredevil spoon around the 40-60ft depth.I would jig it 5feet and let it drop deep and repeat the same method over and over and those bows couldnt resist it. Also when it got tough in the afternoon i would use lead core 3 colors and sometimes up to 5 colors and use a red rapala or silver and black one .That would just about always get us a big cutt. You wont catch many fish in the afternoon but the ones you catch are usually pretty good size.Hope this helps.

Thanks for the report . I think you can get into them but need to get there before the sun comes up . About 10:00am they are heading for deep water . Wish I could get out of work too .
