Sourdough monster
#1
Took my family up to Sour Dough Saturday, they have a little pond they have for kids (12 and under) so we decided to go check it out. After less than 10 seconds of having the bait in the water he had a monster (as he put it) on, after watching him fight this thing for a few minutes and haviing the time of his life (he's only four and frankly I think I had a better time watching his face as he reeled it in) he pulled in a fat 16" brown. It was a time I don't think either of us will ever forget. Later that day at the swimming lake we had a moose come breaking through the trees and take a dip about 60 yards away. All in all it was a great day.

One of my best memories of fishing was with my two grandsons at the kids pond a few years back. It wasn't how big the fish were but the thrill of seeing them catch their first fish with gramps was great! As I remember, it was also the day one fell in up to his waist in the cold water. Of course all the warning to stay away from the steep bank fell on deaf ears. Got to love those little guys as they are a reflection of what we once were.

I know what you mean, Its Sad that some guys are to busy in thier carreers and they totally miss times like that. I would trade times like that for anything.

[black]The kid’s pond sure does have some nice fish in it. I fished it as a kid and have taken my kids there several times over the years. There have been times were I could not take one off the hook before the other kid had one on, and they are always good size. Taking my kids to that pond is the only thing I’ll regret not being able to do since my dad sold the lots.[/black]
