Definitely a phishing scam (the bad kind of fishing). Those loosers will try anything to get your personal info and rip you off. I'd like to meet them in a dark alley for an "exchange" of information. He he. I'll bet they like to see the serial number on the side of my Beretta!

This is a scam.

Never reply to an email requesting personal info i.e. ss, credit card info, addresses ect.. I've received similar e-mails purportedly from ebay, hotmail and e-trade. In all instances they were bogus e-mails, not from the above companies.

You should report this to yahoo immediately. Internet companies take this type of attack on there name and your identity seriously.

[#505000]If you had to enter your password/username to get to the scammer web page they wanted to gather this information from I'd change your password otherwise them crazy criminals have got it! [/#505000]

[#505000]I would also strongly warn any BFT member or anyone at all for that matter than anyone who asked for your SSN or PIN over the internet is a criminal looking to empty your bank accounts or get a credit car under your name.[/#505000]

PHISHING:
"In a phishing attack, a fraudster spams the Internet with email claiming to be from a reputable financial institution or e-commerce site. The email message urges the recipient to click on a link to update their personal profile or carry out some transaction. The link takes the victim to a fake website designed to look like the real thing. However, any personal or financial information entered is routed directly to the scammer."

For more info, see what Wikipedia has to say:

Phishing has been around for a while--it just keeps taking different forms and targeting different people.

If you still have that email, you can report it to Yahoo. Yahoo will then investigate it.

Make sure you've enabled the "bulk mail" folder option. Most of this stuff will just go into that folder and you can delete it. Saves a lot of time and effort.
