think i'll drive up toward st. george this weekend for a little fishin'. i've got to get away from this heat in vegas and even droppin' 2 or 3 degrees is a relief. it's been 115 to 121 here all this week!!!![mad] haven't been up that way since the 1st week of june. anybody been to quail or sand hollow lately? is there still some action or is it just too freakin' hot? i'll fish for any species. anywhere else not too far from the st. george area worth the trip?

Hi Josh,
I have night fished at Steinaker and Red Fleet, for bass and had pretty good success. These two lakes are in the State Parks system and they don't like boats out on the lake after 10PM, but they have never said anything to me. I normally fish tell around midnight, then tie my boat up at the dock, then pick it up the next morning, and this doesn't disturb the campers. I am only a few minutes from both lakes.
As far as bait, I normally fish with crankbaits, Rapala floaters & Rattlin Rapala's and Rat-L-Trap's, have had good luck with silver/black, perch and firetiger colors. I work the shoreline from a boat, and you could do this with a tube, but make sure you carry a flashlight. Two years ago I almost hit a tuber on Red Fleet at 11:30 PM. Lucky we were in a no wake area and I heard him scream...I ended up giving him a little talking too, it scared me also. Good luck and don't get a heat stroke.
