Strawberry 7-22 Tubing
#1
Took Flycastings advice and tried Mud Creek bay last night with my brother. After leaving late and all kinds of problems we finally made it only to find my brother had left his fins at the house. Too bad for him. Only landed 2 fish at the tube, both were 19 inches and a lot of fun. Finally found the fish in about 37 ft of water suspended about 15 feet down but as with the rest of the day it was getting dark by then and had to leave. Should have left my brother sooner for deeper water and less moss and weeds. Great time though. Caught both fish and all hits were on 2 inch countdown Rapalas fished fast.

Were the two fish bows or cutts. I also tube up in Bryants fork with good success. I have also forgot my fins. Had the nephew load the tubes and fishing gear up while I was loading the truck on the archery hunt last year. So mid day we dicide to fish on Mill Hollow and no fins. Well the wind was blowing pretty good and I figured it would push us across that little pond in no time. Well got out in the middle and the wind stopped. Without the fins you dont move to far. Luckily the lull in the wind only lasted 15 min. And we made it across the lake in time to get back up on the mountain for evening hunt.

Glad you caught a couple of nice ones. Did you try jigging at all?

Both fish were cuts so back they went to grow a little more. I was waiting until I found fish on the finder to start jigging and then never got to it before it was dark and had to head back. When I finally found the fish they had already found my Rapala so I just stayed with it. Might have been a mistake not to switch over but then thats what next time is for I guess. Won't waste so much time getting to deeper water now that I know how far it is.
