You were one of the lucky ones. Tincanfsh and I arrived at 6:20 AM and at 9:50 AM we went fishing by ourselves. Apparently some of the families didn't show up. Frustrating experience, but we enjoyed watching the kids receive their plaques and goody bags.

My son and I made it there. He only caught one chub but the high light for my boy was when the guy whose boat we were in let him drive he had the best time of his life. and I'm shure he will never forget it.
I want to give a very special thanks to all of you who donated your boats and time to make this experience happen for these kids. It was great to see all of the people who showed up just to support the event. and to see all of them treat the kids as just that kids they all want so bad to just be a kid and be like everyone else. You all made that happen for them. Again I THANK YOU.
A special thanks to all the BASS fisherman from all the BASS clubs who came out to help kids catch slimmers.

Wow, what a great event. I arrived late Friday afternoon and helped Pat Tease and Valerie Harrison, and their husbands fill many, many tackle boxs. Each child received a nice rod and reel, and a tackle box filled with goodies. Saturday morning I was up at 0500, and Pat's husband (sorry but I forgot his name) had the coffee perking, and that's the only way to start the day. My favorite thing about camping is, the smell of coffee perking and bacon frying. A mother and daughter were the first to arrive and Pat asked me if I wanted to take them out and I said sure. The daughter was around 12 years old and had never been on a boat before. Her mother (Bonnie) was one of the sweetiest person I ever met. Once out in the water I asked her daughter (Jennifer) if she would like to fish and she said no. I said OK, we will just go for a nice boat ride. Around noon everyone had a nice lunch and the kids were given awards. It was fun watching them pose for pictures after they received their awards. It was also nice meeting some of the BFT gang...Bassrods, Tomegun, Tincanfish, Bigfishrules, and a couple others that I forgot their handles. Bassrods, thanks for the tips on drop shoting, and Tomegun, thanks for posting this event on the forum. It was truly a great day...and I have signed on for next year.
