Crank bait cleaning?
#1
I just got some used crankbaits from a friend who no longer needed them. There in OK condition but could use a good cleaning. What can I use to clean them? I'm worried about using any chemicals because I do not want to strip the paint or impart a chemical sent onto the lures. Any advice? TIA

Unless they were bad luck, just wipe'em off and replace the hooks. Scars and things can give the baits lots of fish catching character that pretty/pristine lures can't.

I've heard catchup works very good to clean and shine at the same time. later chuck

I did not think of checking the hooks and split rings. I'll do that tonight. Thanks for all the advise!

Try cleaning them with WD-40 it makes a better cleaner than a lubricant, and wont repell the fish!
