Looking for some advice/recommendations
#1
I am thinking of heading to Jordanelle tomorrow I have never fished this body of water and would like some ideas on where to go and what to use. I am after trout, something with some size other then the planters I have been catching recently, also I am shore bound any suggestion are appreciated.

Or if you think another body of water will be better please give me your opinions. I thought of Strawberry but I will have my kids with me and if we catch something in the slot I don't want to have them release the largest trout they have ever caught.

The trout at Jordanelle can be VERY picky, and tough to catch when fishing from shore. If you are taking your kids I would suggest Lost Creek. Fishing up there has been pretty steady. I was up there a couple of weeks ago(I was in a float tube), and the shore anglers were catching their limits.

I was near the launching ramp. I would suggest that you drive past the ramp, down the road a ways, until it doubles back. Park right there and walk down the shoreline a hundred feet or so. Use powerbait or worms, or worms and a marshmallow. If you want to throw some lures I reccomend a a brass Jakes, or a Blue Fox spinner.

Good luck. Good to see parents taking their kids fishing! [Smile]

[#505000]Never fished Jordanelle, but I can say I have always done awesome at Scofield. Good sized fish and I usually fish it from shore. Use minnows for bait.[/#505000]
