enyone going to brave willard this evening?
#1
I was just wondering if anyone was going to brave willard this afternoon/ evening. With the cooler temps over the last couple days i was hoping the wally's might be picking up. Not sure how the wipers will react to this system coming through but a bad day out there is better than work.[Wink]. I think we're going to head out and see how the wind is and give it a shot.

well, we did make it out and gave it hell. I threw about every old reliable (and a couple new ones) to no avail. I guess there was a skunk in the boat. It did get a little windy but not to bad. After that big cloud rolled in it get a little chilly and my wife was ready to leave. Still fun though, even when i get skunked I can think of a lot worse things to be doing.

Cold fronts always put the wipers down, not to say you can't catch then, it just makes it a little harder. Once the weather stabilizes, the catching will improve once again. Some of the best catching of the year should be starting soon. WH2

Best catching of the year... I really hope so because I want to hit the bay again before winter sets in.

Did I say winter? Yep sure did... there have been stories spread by old-timers that the animals they normally see in august/september/october have disappeared already, and birds are starting to go south, mighty early this year. The old timers tells me that's a sure sign of a long hard winter...

Yeah I know IFG and coldfooter's very enthralled and jumping backwards in a excited fashion... but better go to Cabelas to get those high powered gas augers that go four feet deep...[Tongue] For those with manual augers.... give it up while you have your health...[Sad]

Fished her Friday, only three wipers and a lot of waves. Saw no boils in between swells, did however graph quite a few fish in 8 -13 feet of water. Also lost a planer with the spring kit, so my loss will be someone else's gain - it should be on the North dike by now :-)
