Sand Hollow
#1
Had a chance to fish Sand Hollow in southern Utah Sunday. My first real trip targeting lmb. Had an absolute blast. Didn't catch anything over about 14inches but made up for it with numbers. Had a disposable camera in my shirt pocket, found out that wasn't such a good idea as i bent over to unhook a fish, ker-plunk! Oh well, glad it wasn't the digital. Belive it or not, caught all the fish on a spinner. Others in my group were using 3 inch white grub bounced off the bottom.

After entering the park we took the road thats right at the base of the damn. Then we continued driving around what I believe is the southwest side. We were on the opposite side of the reservior from the damn and the red-rock island. I was wading (lack of preparation) in shorts and bare feet. At times, the water was waist deep. I was amazed at how shallow these fish hang out and even more impressed with how agressive they can be.

they are extremely aggressive. the biggets ones i've caught there, 15 and 16 incers, have been less than 2 feet off shore in 6 to 12" of water around the back by the outhouse and the makeshift boat ramp. there is a picnic table back there in the water and it holds some nice fish under it most of the time.
