Went to deer creek tonight from 4 to 8 initially went up there for trout but nailed the smallmouth, went on the west side. Used tube jigs and rapalas. The rapalas were really good when it was near dark. I caught and released 6 smallies and hooked a nice rainbow but i had dull hooks on my rapala so he flipped off. I probably had a total of 10 missed fish, time to switch out the rapala hooks for new sharp ones.

I was up their yesterday as well, we went up around 6:00am and fished until 12:00. We hammered the smallies on dropshot and small lead-headed creature baits. The west side produced all of our fish. We started in the arm and it prodcued nothing. The water is dropping so the fish are suspended off the bottom in 15 - 20 ft of water. Water temp was 64 degrees.
