I will be floating Jordanelle this Tuesday if anyone is up for the job as well.
Water temps are cooling and things are starting to pick up for those slimy fishies.

Hey wild man,
What time on Tuesday afternoon are you planning on heading out there and where are you going to be launching ? I haven't fished Jordanelle this year and I'm thinking(a rare thing - I know) I should maybe get over there at least once before ice-up.
P.S. A friend of mine was fishing rapalas in the Rock Cliff area on Friday and got into some monster browns - those were released, so they're probably still there.

Hey Craig,
Is the boat ramp completed or do you have to haul your 'toon a ways?

FH: Plan is to launch at the Rock Cliff arm and drag rapalas around. I have caught 10 browns over 5 lbs this year at Jordanelle, all but 1 was in the rockcliff arm.
HCD: Yes the ramp is done, it is short, steep and narrow but you can launch boats there now.

I will be on channel 12. I got an early start at work (5:30am) so I should be heading up around lunch, a bit earlier.

Hey CBR,
I am still not sure if I can make the "nelle" this afternoon. But I will try to get out.
One quick question on one of your rig set ups. Your make shift down rigger - if that is what you were refering to - I may have misunderstood what you were saying.
It sounds like kinda-sorta what I have tried. I've used a line counter reel with 25 lb mono and a 2 oz banana trolling weight with a down rigger release that attaches to another rod and line that has my lure on it(the line counter reel and rod replace an actual down rigger). When I get a strike, it releases just like on a down rigger and I then play the fish on the second line. I've always called it my "poorman's down rigger. Is that what you are kind of doing ? Or, am I completely missing what you are talking about ? Wouldn't surprise me if I were. I also like the idea of using braided line.
Also, what is the "clothing tie clip" thing you are using ? They sound lots less expensive than the real down rigger releases I had been using and if I could make those work, I might save me some money because I've lost a few of my rigs before because I was unattentive and some how snagged my whole rig out of existance. Of course that was when I didn't have a sonar to know about the depth or structure that I must have snagged up on.
