Scofield water conditions
#1
[#505000]Hey I'm thinking of helping out a buddy who has a hard time fishing out to Scofield. Hopefully we can get Fishluvr into a fish or two!! [Tongue][/#505000]

[#505000]Anyone been out there lately who can shed some light on water conditions or good places to go from shore that are family friendly (we're taking wives and children. All of Fishluvrs wives want to go on this trip) ? I know there was talk of draining it down some to fix the dam. Has that happened yet?[/#505000]

[#505000]Anyway any input I can get would be appreciated.[/#505000]

[cool]I haven't been to the lake since late July, but from what I remember of the DWR article on it (which I think is on the DWR website), they weren't going to draw down the water THAT low to fix the dam. In fact, if I remember correctly, there would still be more water left in it than what we had during the past 6 drought years.

In other words, 16 feet deep shouldn't be the deepest spot you find this year when ice fishing season gets here, like it was last year. It sure was shallow last year. I remember guys on here asking me where i found 16 feet deep, because the deepest they were finding was like 11 feet deep over on the east shore (where the masses ice fish). By the way, my answer to them was off the point at the shacks just past the dam. Should be deeper and better this year. Can't wait for that!
