Surprise catch at Willard - Oct 1.
#1
As I was trolling outside of the North Marina today(Saturady, October 1), the wind picked up and having forgotten my oars and fins, I headed back into the marina, so, if my motor or battery gave out I wouldn't have been stranded on the other side of the lake and had to walk back. While I made my way back in, I was surprised at what I happened upon and landed in my net.

It was someones tackle box - loaded with a variety of fishing tackle. It was floating, so, I picked it up out of the water. Obviously, it hadn't been in the water but a very short time.

So, if anyone knows someone that may have lost a tackle box overboard - let me know. I will be glad to get it back to that person.

I am sure whoever lost it would want it back, so ask around to folks you know that may have been there today. Also, check your own tackle supplies to see if maybe one of your boxes is missing.

It contains 29 lures and 19 misc. pieces of tackle and of course the semi-clear plastic tackle box itself.

P.S. The person should be able to identify at least something specific or at least give some indication of some of the contents in order for me to know who it belongs to.

[black]No problem -- some if not all of the lures had hooks on them. I'll stop by this PM to pick it up.[/black]

Great Kent,

"some if not all of the lures had hooks on them."

That's a positive ID if ever I heard one.[unsure]

I'll see you in the P.M. in case I'm out back, I'll just hang it around the neck of Chester(if you remember - he's the biggest hound - the unsocial-kind-of-stand-offish one that always looks unpleasantly hungry and somewhat irritable) and you can just grab it from him - also remember, to move very slowly and don't act or smell nervous, and whatever you do, don't offer him a treat - he's been tricked before. See you then.[Smile]

Thanks I appreciate it. I will just bring Chester a doggie treat. If he has been tricked before he is probably due to be tricked again! Isn't October the month of trickery and treats?

Sorry Folks,

I should point out that Kent and I know each other and we were just being facetious.

The tackle box is still here waiting for recovery by the unfortunate angler that lost it.

I LOST ONE ON SATURDAY THERE WITH YOU. IT IS A CLEAR CASE WITH SPINNERS AND A FLAT FISH I THINK. ANYWAYS IF THAT IS IT. IT WOULD BE NICE I HAVE IT BACK. IF NOT OH WELL IF I DON'T GET IT BACK I WILL COUNT IT AS ANOTHER SACRFICE TO THE FISH GODS.
