[#ff4040]Has anybody been out to good ole Lincoln Beach lately??? Just wondering if the walleye were picking up yet. Man wish I was born rich so I didn't have to work all the time.[/#ff4040]

[#505000]I tried it yesterday. It started out as a perfect morning but by the time I got on the water and over to the first spring in came the wind. [/#505000]

[#505000]I fished for about 20 minutes until the breakers were starting to break on my toon and I headed in. I tried fishing from shore for another 30 minutes but the weather was just too crappy.[/#505000]

I went out saturday morning. The weather was perfect, but no walleyes. Talked to a couple of boats and they hadn't caught any eyes either. One boat said there was a guy in a little flat bottom that was about 1/2 mile west of the L that had two, but that was it. No waders at all that morning and only one guy fishing of the end of the levy. I picked up a few white bass and a couple of bluegill that I found schooled up way out in about 9' of water. Finished up the day by snagging a few carp inside of the little cove at the L. All the fish I caught (in the mouth) were taken under a bobber. I had several hits on my jigs, but couldn't get any hookups, most of the hits were ultra light. Water temp at launch was 58.5* and got as high as 61* when I left at noon.

[cool][#0000ff]I got a report of some fish coming in just before dark...when the "breezes" were acting up a bit. It is always better to fish in nice weather, but walleyes often don't share that philosophy. They are also prone to like the evening more than morning at times.[/#0000ff]

[#ff4040]Whenever I go to Lincoln I always fish til pitch dark. Everybody else is gone. The fish don't like to feed until about that time. Last year I was fishing out there in November, and could hear the lake start to get a little coating of freeze. I have always done better when it was dark. The morning is okay too, but not as much as the night.[/#ff4040]

THINK ABOUT THIS FROM THE WALLEYES VEIW. THE WAIVES COME IN BIG HIT THE PREY FISH SMASHING THEM ALL AROUND AND DISSORENTING THEM. EASY MEAL TIME. IF I HAD TO CATCH ALL MY MEALS WOULD I LOOK FOR SOMETHING EASY OR HARD? IF ITS ABOUT LIVING OR DIEING. ILL CHOOSE EASY. WALLEYES ALWAYS CHOOSE EASY. AND MOST PREY FISH SLEEP AT NIGHT . THIS IS WHY EYES FEED SO WELL IN LOW LIGHT HRS. SLEEPING PREY IS EASY MEALS.

[#ff4040][#ff4040]That's way old skool. Come on Gee, at least just go with the treble hook only. I've found that works a lot better[/#ff4040].[/#ff4040][sly][sly]
