Interesting pic...but you can't tell exactly how deep/where the metal is. X-rays are a 2 dimensional picture of a 3 dimensional object. You would need to the the A/P (frontal) view to get a good feel for exactly where it was at. That object could be just laid on top of the skin, or it could be impaled into the skull. It would look the same in that view.
