Pineview crappie&bass.
#1
Went up to pineview this morning to brave the overcast and wind.

It was a bit cold.

We started out pretty quick. I got a nice smallie. The dad picked up a 15 1/4 inch smallie. We got a couple more but we movedto another spot on the lake and I was surprised when I started getting bit by crappie. They were real nice ones too. Big old paper mouths taking my bass lures.
There were some more smallmouth mixed in with them.

In all it was a pretty decent day.

We stuck the biggest smallmouth of the day in the livewell for a while to see what she chucked up. What was found was fairly large crawdad claws. Probably the biggest claws I have seen chucked up this year.

Saw one guy get a tiger musky from shore.

Theres no one there at the gate so it looks like launching is free for the rest of the year.
Theres no docks, they are in the water, but they are floating free. No way to reach them from shore.

What no pics ? I love to see the crappie . The big ones I have hooked lately have all been caught on 3" grubs . October 1 is usaully free boat launch at the Port . Wish they would leave a section of boat dock you could use there .

Sorry, no pics.
I didnt have the camera on board today.
I actually would have liked a pic of one of the smallies, it had extrodinary coloring on it. It was a very cool looking fish.

One thing that did interest me about the crappie was they didnt have the dark "black crappie" coloring to them, they actually looked very much more like willards crappie.

Thats interesting you have been getting them on the bigger lures as well.

kraizee skot, I was on the east side fishing a small point with weed cover on it. About mid way on the lake. They were down about 20 ft.
