Thanks MANIAC. (Surprise package)
#1
Just got back from Co. & N.M. visiting relatives. Ya know how that goes with someone who would rather be fishun or huntun. Anyway - found a surprise package in the mail after picking it all up at the post office on the way in. Thanks MANIAC! Will do my best with em. It was the first package I opened. Next idea - design a better weedless hook for us.[sly]
Ok - this is NOT a paid anouncement!!!! But it is a volunteer ad. I haven't even met the guy and have bought very small amounts from him. I'm cheap and don't use that much. This is just my observation and my 2 cents. This guy is rare and his buisness should receive any support you can give. Why - because he's just starting and has a lot of PR common sense. From what I've seen, he will do his best to make any plastic lure to your specs. and bend over backwards to help ya out. Where else folks????? To top it off, he beats all the known plastic prices. Come on folks, this guy is right here in our area and for real!!! You'd beter take advantage of him before he gets too popular!!![Wink]

[cool]Nice story, Leaky! I've heard nothing but good stuff about him (maniac) and his plastics. Haven't been able to do any smallmouth fishing this year and finances are bad, but should start to pick up soon, so I'm going to order some of those white maniac 4 inch sticks that Randy (hellsangler 69) was nailing the cuts at the berry through the ice with last season. I wanna have those in my arsenal this year for the ice season. Next year I'm gonna get me some reapers and 4 inch stickbaits and do a bunch of smallie fishin'.

Hope you get out and get some more nice smallies before ice on forces you and sparky out of your tube.

I keep hearing about these, but where would a person get some of these to try out ? Hooked, Sportsman's, Fish Tech or Smith and Edwards ? I don't order things on the internet and I haven't seen them anywhere - but, I probably just haven't looked in the right places where they are sold yet.

Hey MANIAC - if you read this, I'm not looking for freebies - but, I would like to give them a try sometime and I like the idea of supporting a local person trying to get by in this crazy world we all live in.

Maniac still does not have tubes (unfortunately). As soon as he start making tubes, I'm a customer. 3.5" long, red tubes are the ticket! Hint, hint.

Sportsman's in Riverdale has a wall full of them. I too would have spent more money on them had there been some tubes.

[cool]Not sure if the Sportsmans in Midvale has them, but I know that James has some at Hooked Fishing Tackle in Kaysville.

Where can you find them?

Unfortunatley you cant get the entire selection of lure types, colors, and sizes anywhere but online.

Sportsmans in riverdale carries stick worms in 3 and 4 inch, drop shot worms, slither worms, the smaller reapers, and the crawfish creature baits.

Hooked fishing tackle in kaysville carries the stick worms

Smith and edwards carries the stick worms.

Anglers den carries the sticks.

Several places in manilla carry his lures.

As for the tubes? Well, that situation will be fixed shortly. Along with custom made curl tail grubs and a host of other lures.

Your welcome Leaky! I think for now I will make plastics. I agree, there has to be a better weedless hook idea out there! But I think that I will stay with making plastics for now. As for the tubes, You guys are just too convincing, {Possibly next spring}. I only have time, and resources for three or four things at once! If anyone wants that Mocha colored reaper, that Predator nailed that Hawg on, I have some 2-1/2" left. But I can make more if needed! Tom, you will just have to wait!

I'm with skot, if you start coming out with curl tail grubs I'll be buying. Dark bodies with hot tails.

[cool]Hey maniac, how much for those mocca reapers? I've got a tiny bit of cash right now, so maybe I can buy a few from ya. I can always use a new weapon or color (that nobody else really has) to go after the smallies next summer when I get really serious about them.

If you like curl tails you're in for a treat. I saw the prototype maniac curltail today and if it does what it looks like it should do and from past experience with maniacs it should this is going to make alot of fishermen very happy.

I thought you would have seen it long before I did. He was going to field test them to see what if any modifications they needed. It's great that you caught that big bass out of my hole, at least you put him back for me to catch later. He will be put back after I get a few photos though.

Until you met me had you ever seen a real sasquatch. How do you know how big we are. Sure I'm not as big as stories say or quite as hairy although at times I can be as fragrant. Anyway I am pretty excited for these grubs to hit full production so I can try them out. I need to find something that will compare with my normal bass methods that is easier to come across.
