Strawberry Report 10-15
#1
Took my two oldest for a quick morning Strawberry trip. We started at dawn at the southern end of the lake using the standard pointer minnow thrown shallow and the kids (I don't trust them with $15 pointers yet) flipping 4" white tubes a little deeper. We fished until 10 AM, boating 27 (by my son's count) cuts. Picture of largest is included, a fat 24-1/2" cut, and a picture of a determined craw-dad. Water temp is up about a degree since last Wednesday, it start right at 50 and was up near 51.5 when we left. One could about cross the water walking boat to boat - typical weekend up there. Fish were found a little deeper than the past week, other than real early when they were within 15 feet of shore. We caught the most on jigs in about 17 feet of water. Hitting it again Tuesday morning, hopefully a few less people and a little cooler water to keep the early shallow bite going longer.

NICE CUTT! I bet that boy weights close to 6 lbs.

All of these good strawberry reports makes me want to get back up there but I can't resist the urge to head up to bear lake.

Nice pictures. Isn't it amazing how good the fishing is right now. I am looking to get some more days in before ice also. Maybe I will see you up there one day. I have really been trying to go during the week so it is not so crowded. Them white jigs are knocking them dead. Best of luck

Look for me in the 19 foot black & silver Alumacraft Trophy 190 with a 200 HP Optimax on the back. I almost always have an open seat, so come say hi.

Looks and sounds like you guys did a good job of GitR Dun. Great looking fish. Its always best to let the youngsters keep count, [Wink].
We found Saturday a wee bit hotter (action wise) than Sunday afternoon but all in all it was a pretty far weekend at the Berry for us too. Around 5.30pm Sunday we changed tactics and it was hot draggin' hard baits too.

I was up there last Tuesday with Geezer and his buddy Fred and I only seen maybe a dozen boats on the pond. Infact I think we seen more tooner's/tuber's than boats and most of them were in the Meadows and East Portal... Good luck tomorrow..

I'll also be at Strawberry on tuesday with a couple of friends. Sounds like we are going to have a party! I'll prob start off over by Mud Creek where we really got into them a few weeks ago. I'll also be packing heat in the boat hoping to do a little casting and a little blastin when some fowl decide to do a flybye. I'll be in the green ski boat (prob the only boat on the lake tomorrow with a wakeboard tower on it) and I'll be on channel 12 so give a shout out when you find the fish!
