Weber river
#1
Fished the weber with a couple of friends Sunday. Fished about a mile and a half above were the river enters Rockport.Caught two on my hike, one 14" brown and a very chubby 16" rainbow one of my buddies matched with another 14" brown. We then went to the area in between Echo and Rockport. We did alot of hiking with only three more fish caught (small browns) but alot of good hits and lost fish in between. My one friend hooked into something big his 6ft pole was doubled over and drag was screaming he only got about 3or 4 shakes before his line snaped. Maybe one of them bruiser browns? Who knows. Does anyone know when the browns in the weber will be in full spawn? I kept an egg sack out of one of the browns with full blown eggs almost 3/4 the size of salmon eggs and I was wondering is it leagle to fish with eggs taken from a harvested fish?" Using it in the same waters the fish was caught of course".Not wanting to spread wirling disease. If I save them and use them during the spawn it would probably be awsome bait for the rainbows and white fish that will be feasting on the spawning browns eggs. Also were all using lures rappala, spinners, etc.

I thought that area was private property? Is there access that I don't know about? How do you get to that area? I always thought that you could access the river near where the bridge goes over the river, just a little ways above Rockport. Is this where you were fishing?

Yeah the bridge after the lake access road. There are signs posted no tresspassing but the actual private property is yards from the river. when you hike back a ways you will see the barbed wire fences that seperate you from private property. And some times the fences will be right up to the river bank. But as long as you stay on your side it's not tresspassing.
