#1
(hope the icon I tried to add works without screwing up anything)
I'm just north of Bear Lake at the foot of Immigration pass. Can anyone tell me a good place to get a few Walleye? What fish are in Oneida?

Welcome aboard! There are plenty of Walleye in Oneida, there are also Smallmouth,Trout, and a Billion carp. I have done fair in the resrvior trolling bottom bouncers or jigging in the deeper water around the Dam. If you don't have a boat I wouldn't even bother with the reservior, the river above and below hold descent walleye populations and they should be getting pretty active right now. I would try throwing 3-5" Rapalas near the Powerplant the color Blue has always produced well for me.
Good luck!!!

Yes the ramp is on the South end of the Reservior by the Dam. The last time I was up there was in August and we found active Walleye about a half mile up the Reservior in 15-30' of water. The reservior has always been hit or miss, you either catch them good or don't even get a bite if you hook up trolling stop and drop a jig and worm and you will usually end up with a limit. Remember if you get up there and the Reservior isn't producing the river below also has some very large Browns in it and they should be staging in the deeper pools for the spawn and hitting almost anything you throw in, this is where the walleye are too.
Good luck!!!

If he's anything like my dog he's in the net playing with the fish. Sometimes I think Bean is going to jump in the net before I get it in the boat. He dont hurt them he just wants to play with them. On time a fish flipped out of my hands and was bouncing back to the water. Not to worry Bean grabbed him up and brought him back. With not even a tooth mark in him I gently let him go to fight another day. Then turn to see a look of what you doing letting him go![Wink]

Sure can't beat a dog for the "First Mate". Zappa (named for the infamous Frank Zappa) watches everything! He knows when we are beaching, docking, fishing etc. Just hasn't got handling the lines down yet. We just spent 12 days touring and camping around Lake Powell. He doesn't always get to go cuz he weighs 150# and takes up too much room.

Well joyride, most people here tend to thik of me as a bass fisherman, but I have spent a few years dedicated to the pusiut of walleye.

Since you are up north, I would recomend a couple places that are close, and a couple that are not too far out of the way.

Its not typical walleye water, but cutler has produced regular walleye this year. I even heard of some real nice ones.

Popular areas seem to be under bridge areas where the river is forced narrow and the water flow cutts out deeper holes. Plus the pilings break the current and its dark water.
lots of guys also like below cutler dam.

For a bit of travel, you can hit willard bay.
Troll up a bunch of nice eyes there.

But since you are already pretty much in idaho, hop over the border and hit oakley. Most the eyes in there are averaging 4 lbs and the fishing is good. Make a trip of it.
