Myself and another hit the Berry again this morning. Went out on the water in nasty pea soup at 6:20 - thick fog and 30 degrees. Kind of spooky running at 48 mph if the fog, so we slowed down to 25 and held on, I'm glad GPS is accurate! Anyway, GPS'ed to our fishing grounds and commenced the fish catching with pointers. Fog stayed thick until about 10, and it was a little hard to fish our normal sweet spots because we didn't have visual points of reference, only the GPS. We still managed to boat 27 before we quit about 10:30 when all the other boats started showing up. Fish were widely scattered in the water column, water temp at 49.4. We caught two over the slot, including a pretty fat 25"-er. We didn't try tubes for more than about 10 minutes today, but did catch a couple during that time frame, right before we left. The fish appear to moving a little shallower, as we seemed to have more hookups in 4-6 feet than normal. Also, watch for big weed beds which have narrow deep channels in them. Casting parallel to the drop-off lines in these weeds beds has been very effective. Camera battery was dead so no pics today. Until next week.........

Are you using the regular Pointers or the Live Pointers? I took out a bank loan and purchased a couple of each style from Sportsman's during lunch today.

I already own one, but they aren't of much value if you happen to lose a lure attached to a fish.

I tried to head out this morning in the fog while it was dark I couldn’t get the light to stay on on my GPS. (I need to read the book again) I had to wait until it got light to head out so I could see where I was heading. We did well all morning at the opening of the narrows using white tube jigs. I had 3 of my kids in the boat with me there were several times all I would do is go from one kid to the next netting their fish. Of course my 5 year old out fished me again by catching the biggest fish. Just before we had to leave he manages to hook a fish after several misses all morning and it was 22 inches. All the others catch were in the slot.

I had purchased two to try out and lost one on thursday. Baot the last ghost minnows they had at Cabelas monday. So today I went to Sportsmans and they only had three left. Asked if they had any in back. I was told that was all that was left, they have had quite the run since the article in the tribune came out. So I ended up buying a four of the other color patterns. Ended up with a hundred and eight dollar bill for seven lures!

$15.99 for Live Pointers
$10.99 for regular Pointers

Congrats on the fishing success! I had a baseball tourney this weekend so dad had to go alone. He only go 12 in 5 hours casting pointers! He had a great day in one spot three weeks ago and won't explore new areas! He's fishing the points at the start of the narrows and then Hawe's Point and south... looking for the shallow weed lines. What general vicinity did you find them in?
