What's the big deal about fishing for these slimers? I think that fishing for mackinaw would be a huge waste of time. [cool][cool][cool]

You need another hobbie - since it's obvious you really CAN'T and DON'T do fly fishing, and apparently WON'T do macs, maybe you could try ice fishng in the winter. Remember, there ARE other fish in the water. Have you considered stamp collecting ? That might take your mind off your bass problem. Then again, there is always knitting - if you have any dexterity at all in your left hand - that is.[ ][signature]

you ever caught one of these big slimmer's? there is no wast of time on these big fish unless you are beting your head against the wall trying to figure out why you cant catch on of these monster's .that could be a wast of time .i fish all over for every thing and as far as fresh water goes i havent caught eny thing that was so much fun .dont think for a min that thay dont fight. thay can pull an 18ft boat around really good .i allso have fished bass and thay are a kick in the pant's but it's just the sure size of the mac's that are possible who know's that next one could be 50+lb's but it's the same i think that the best fishermen out there dont just fish one type of fish thay do them all slimmer's one day and bass the next who's too say all i can say is try it before you knock it.i bet you would really enjoy some thing that could take you a hr to get a look at .just try it what's it going too hurt .and if it turn's out it's a wast of time you will know the old shmackinaw aint for you.......[cool] later fishley p.s would be happy to show you it's a great time.........if tghem bass rod's can hold a 20+er

Hay now lets get this in the right light OK.
One they pull like a train well so dose a CARP and catfish but I will take a catfish then a CARP or sucker long time before a slimer of any size. Two they take a long time to land, well I have landed to date 44.2 lb lake slimer and it was on 8 lb test line and it took less then 15 min. and was like a bucket. Three now isn't this more fun then talking about what is legal or not.[ ] all pun aside if it swims and will take a hook I will fish for it. Four all fish fight different a bluegill for its size on 4 lb line will fight a lake trout on 50lb line well you can just drags it in but on 8 or 10 well it will give its all and is fun. BUT I STILL SAY BASS ARE MORE FUN TO FISH FOR..[ ][pirate][shocked][crazy][cool][cool] . [signature]

for a fish of that size too only take a few min's he was a lazy fish you will have that on these bigen's some time's .he could just feel the bill dance in ya and he didnt want you to hurt him's head and tuna him in to the boat.lol enjoy bassrod's do ya fish the smallie's at the gorge ever?later fishley mac's make my world go round.[

I have to admit, the term "SLIMER" fits Macadoo pretty good. Altho', some of us get a wee bit more coated in slime than others do when a doo'er decides to wrap itself around ya while its picture is being taken, Right 3M? [

Well its like this. You go catch a twelve inch small mouth and then put a big trailer hook behind him. Hook him up onsome steel line. Drag this thru some 30 to 40# macks and hold on.[sly][cool][shocked] [signature]

NOW THAT'S HOW THIS GAME IS PLAYED![sly] You see guys, we can have agreat time razzing each other and all the way through the posts! That is what this site is about! []If you don't know me, I am an avid bass fisherman ... avid flyfisherman & gatorbait. he he he. I love all types of fish and could probably give and TAKE a few lessons from all. [blush] If anyone can stand to have me on their boat, I would love to head up to the gorge and catch one of these beauties. I guarantee you that you could have one heck of a fight using 4lb line and a good sized pelican bluegill or taking a brown in the fall off the surface using a hopper pattern. Topwater bassin' and just about any carp you catch will all fight the crap out of your line and leave your arms sore at the end of the day.[ ]It's all in good company here ... Just like Christ's Apostles ... We are fishermen and we should be proud to show it![cool] [signature]
