Could anyone tell me where I would go to find world records on Fresh Water Fish? Rumor has it that a 21 pound Splake was caught at Fish Lake today. I would like to see how close it is to the world record Splake.

[cool][#0000ff]The world record splake is listed at 20 pounds and 11 ounces, coming from Ontario, in Canada. It is not listed in the BFT state records section.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]There have been several big splake taken recently, during the spawn. If that 21 pounder is for real...and not a mack...it will be a new world record. Because there are also macks present in the lake, the final ruling will probably be dependent upon a genetic test, to verify that it is a splake.[/#0000ff]

The rumor is not true...I went and verified the fish as being a lake trout. the individual who caught the fish thought it might be a splake because of the shape of the tail and coloration in the fins; however, it was definitely not a splake, but a lake trout. The fish was 36-37 inches long and caught on 6lb. test...it weighed around 22 pounds.
