ice fishing huntington?
#1
well just got back from my scooting trip to huntington.. good news there is ice on huntington but i did not have the brass to give it a try.. i got about 10 feet out and in started spider webbing under my feet so thought i might not give it a try today.. and i only had my boy with me and he's not strong enugh to pull my fat a** off the ice if need be..

so was going to pack it up and go to E-lake.. on the way back i looked down on fairview lakes and seen it had ice as well.. so we went down to check it out.. got there and walked out on the ice about 10 feet and punched a hole looked to be a good 1 1/2" of blue ice.. cool i said lets check it out alittle deeper.. went out another 20 feet try again.. about 2" blue ice.. sweet it's fishing time.. i got Robert set up and helped him get it down... then got my pole set up and droped it down.

well after about 10 min's i got a hard hit and missed it.. but it got my bait.. so i brought it up to check when i heard my boy's drag going off turned in time to see him set the hook again and start reeling.. sweet the first ice fish of the year go's to my B-Day Boy Robert!!

well we fished there for a while longer but did not see any more fish.. so got up and headed out to deeper water..the ice was about 3" thick there and about 8' deep.. my boy was done fishing seeing that he cought the first one that's all he had to do..lol
so i fished for about 20 min's there pulled in 2 rainbows.. and said ok lett's go he was getting cold..

Thanks Ron -- sure wish I had Monday or Tuesday off instead of tomorrow. That picture of Huntington looks like open water?

[cool]Ron, you are 'da man! Thanks for being the barer of glad tidings!!! So, do you think the ice at Hunington will be thick enough next week (Turkey Day Weekend)? I guess if it's not than we can at least ice fish Fairview Res. for some 'bows, eh? Isn't Fairview lower than Hunington in elevation?[crazy]

hey kent huntington is iced over!! sold 1" to 2" clear blue ice..
i went out about 10 feet and it was creepy man.. then to see them spider wed's under my feet. and see the bottom of the lake and minnows swimming around. yahoo ice season is on..
but like i said my boy was with and it being his B-Day and all.. i thought he might like catching a fish more than seeing dad take a cold bath..

Fuzzy watch it or you'll start a stampede![Wink] Tomorrow morning there will be so many fishermen on that little bit of ice they will all crash thru.[shocked] Then the freeze will have to start over.[shocked]
