What is iced up above Strawberry?

I am looking to hit something up past strawberry this Saturday so I can also check on how the ice is doing at the big trout pond.

Anyone know of anything up that direction about 20-30 minutes past the berry that is iced?

Any one have reports on Current Creek or Red Creek up by Fruitland? Any one out in the Uintah Basin or late season cow elk hunters know about Moon Lake and its possibility of ice?

[cool]I would guess that Current Creek may have safe ice by this weekend as it's higher in elevation than Strawberry. I'd give it a shot if I were you, but make sure you follow fuzzyfishers methods and only go out a few feet and drill a hole there to check thickness first before venturing out further! I don't think I can get out this weekend, but plan on hitting C.C.E. or Mud on the 10th. Good luck!

I might be able to join ya on the birthday trip the 9th. Might be able to get a sitter. That would be a blast! I've got a feeling that parts of 'da berry might be ready for action that day. If not, I KNOW that Scofield will be (but that's a drive).

As far as Causey, I'd sent theekillerbee a pm on that one. He's usually very current on that lake, but from what I understand, it's very deep, so it takes a little longer than some of the others to freeze. It's usually ready (I think) by New Years Day or so.

hey cbr i drove up to causey yesterday and i got up there at about 9 and there was no ice on it at all

Count me in on the 9th too. I was thinking this weekend, but work isn't going to let me go now. I will probably have to work this Fri. which leaves me off next Fri. the 9th.

Thanks for the info on Causey. It is usually safe by about the 3rd or 4th weekend in Dec, depending on weather of course[]

I would really like to join you on your B-day for ice fishing. I think there will be several lakes froze over by then. However I’ll be spending my 3rd day in a recertification class and taking a 150 question and hands on test. I have to recertify ever 3 years this will be the 5th time in the past 12 years, I would rather be fishing I’ll be wishing I was out on the ice with you.

If there is anyone that would like to find some new ice I might go looking for some on Tuesday the 6th let me know.
