Ice to be ... or Not to be...and that is the question that I ask of me...
#1
I have gazed long and hard...into my magic fish bowl of mystic minnows...and they have revealed to me these truths...

By this coming Saturday the following lakes will have ice.

Strawberry
Rockport
Manutua
Pelican
Pineview
Scofield
Ray Daines
PaliSades
Nine Mile
Jordanelle (Provo arm)
Echo
Joe's Valley
And all of the high Uintas

My mystic minnows reveal that all of these bodies of water will have some ice on them...although some may be only thick enough to use to fill your glass. [sly] [sly]

Ice testers are needs...those brave souls with the kind of brass that clank when they walk. [cool] [Wink]

When did you become so eloquent in your turn of phrase?

This ice fishing has adversley effected both your spelling and your sentence structure. We can actually understand you now, lol.[Tongue]

Did you hire a ghostwriter[Wink].

Whatdid you do with Cliff, and where did you hide him? [Tongue]

Illusions...and mystic readers...I believe it is a lack of fishing that causes me these mental lapses into brillance...or is it just the number of crown and coke???

Let me consult my mystic minnows...***insert twilight zone music here***

Yuba for a Happy New Year...

Rockport will have ice by the weekend...although it may not be safe.

Eastcanyon has ice now on parts of the lake.

The fish bowl is getting cloudy...so these are all the predictions I'll have until the minnows awaken...***fade out twilight zone music***and a hush falls over the valley....

Stopped at Mantua at 10 a.m. today. Ice was covering the whole lake. Tossed a big rock near the docks and it stuck but didn't go all the way through. An inch thick, maybe a bit less.

bassrods was right,
Amazingly enough.
mantua already has ice.
I was so wrong.

Thats ok, I can eat my pride.

I walked on the ice today.
The thickest my sledge hammer could fing was 1 1/2 inches thick.

Somebody had an auger out on it today.
I assume they fished through the hole. But they might have drilled it just to check.

Its actually kind of scary to walk on. It froze so fast the bubblers all froze over too. Now you got weak spots that arent exposed.
But I noticed that the bubblers have turned the clear black ice white. So stay away from white ice.
Looks like by the weeked it will be three to four inches thick.

Its nice to be wrong sometimes.

Ooommmmm!!!! Oooooooommmm!!!

Peering into the mystic minnows....I envision the following...

Fishlake...is icing in the bays and coves...

Utah Lake...all marina's have ice...

Flaming Gorge...shallow bays have ice working toward deeper waters...

Deer Creek...shallow end and beginning in some bays icing up...

Soldier Creek will produce some nice fish this weekend...as will the Berry in the bays.

Starvation is icing in the bays...

Red Fleet and Steinaker also is beginng to show ice.

Pelican...ice safety is questionable this weekend.
