we tried to get to huntington today but we didn't quite make it.
we were stopped by a white out and i guess 40 mph wind.
couldn't see the front of the truck. turned around and came home.
there is always next week.

You were a lot smarter than we were Saturday,that was the worst conditions I have ever had on the ice,and that includes a lot of years fishing the ice in Michigan.Thankfully we did not go to far out from the dam.Caught my first Tiger trout and left.And I thought I was hardcore!

i think if we would have left the truck for the ice we might not have found the truck again for awhile.
it was just plain nasty.
the plows were out and about but the wind won out today.

[font "Lucida Console"][#ff0000]WE MADE IT TO THE LAKE AND IT WAS A WHITE OUT TO SAY THE LEAST..DRIVING WAS SLOW (5-10 M.P.H) SOMETIMES NOT SEEING THE HOOD OF THE TRUCK.. WHEN WE GOT TO THE LAKE, FROM THE PARKING LOT (3 OTHER TRUCKS) YOU COULD NOT SEE THE ICE AND SOMETIMES EVEN THE DAM. WE BAGGED IT AND HEADED OUT OF THERE FEARING NOT GETTING HOME.. SOMEONE SLIPPED OFF THE ROAD ABOUT A MILE FROM THE LAKE WE TRIED TO PULL HIM OUT BUT RUINED 2 PULL STRAPS, SO WE DECIDED TO DRIVE UP THE ROAD AND CALL A FRIEND FOR THE GUY.. MADE THE LOOP BY SCOFIELD JUST HOPING FOR SOLID ICE BUT THE MIDDLE WAS WIDE OPEN.. SO WE HEADED HOME AND ARRIVED SAFELY.. A FUN WHITE KNUCKLE DAY BUT NO FISHING..[/#ff0000][/font]
