Well, made it up to Huntington Friday morn in a blinding snowstorm.Thank God for 4WD.Started out to the ice about 830.Got out on the ice and found out like everybody else that it was slush and water instead.Couldn't find any deep water mainly cuz it was to much work to move our stuff around and find it.Anyway,we fished for about 2 hours had one bite on a whattacricket and minnow. Then my shed floor would fill up with water and we bagged it.Took us about 40 mins to get back to the truck just to have the plows come by twice and not even think about slowing or lifting their plow when they went by.Had a few choice words and sign language for them when they came back the other way.Anyway it was an adventure.Went back to Mt Pleasant for a hot shower and some prime rib.Think I'll wait for things to ice up around here which shouldn't be much longer.Better luck next time!!

I thought that the idea of plowing the snow was to leave the plow down and push the snow off of the road. What did you want the driver to do? Come back when you were not there?
Sorry for the sarcasm, but I have driven a plow for over 30 years and you just can't make everyone happy.
Too bad about the tough fishing. We need the lower lakes to freeze up so the real fun can begin.

Trust me...I've made a living plowing snow myself.I know if I saw two guys standing next to the road with no place to go I would at least slow down or lift my plow for 20 feet.Anyway...I think once we get a cold snap for any duration of time the slush at Huntington won't be a problem anymore.Does the state keep that road open all year or will they close it eventually.Anybody know?

That road is kept open the year around, because it is a major access road for the coal miners.

Conditions were the same for us on Saturday. Man tough fishing, plus seeing fish on the sonar all day with no hits makes it very frustrating

I think that the fish were still full from all the crawlers that I feed to them om Monday. At least we had dry ice then!
